"...the stone which the builders rejected has become the cornerstone"

                                                                                                   Mt 21:42

You don’t have to look very far in this world to find need. It is true in each of our communities. It is particularly true for those who live in developing nations such as Honduras. It walks with you along the road. It clamors at your heels. It tugs on your sleeve and waits at your gate. God has enjoined us each to meet that need wherever He places us:
“Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink?  When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you?  When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you? “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”  (Mt. 25:37-40)

The Lord is My Help

The Lord is My Help, a local outreach mission for Wesley UMC, is a non-profit, non-denominational, non-discriminatory Soup Kitchen based out of Ocean Springs, Mississippi.

For many years Wesley members have been volunteering their time every other month. Approximately 120 meals are boxed and delivered to the homebound every day for lunch.  Additionally, hot lunches are served at the Ocean Springs location.  A food pantry is also available.

For nearly 30 years, The Lord Is My Help has devoted its energy to passionately advocating for the hungry, needy and politically under-represented members of our Gulf Coast Community.

Seashore Mission

A mission of the Seashore District of the Mississippi UMC

To create a community of hospitality by offering refuge and restoration on the Mississippi Gulf Coast

Ours is a community of hospitality and healing where there is hope for the hopeless, peace for the weary, and refuge for all.

Out of a desire to follow Jesus' example in loving and serving one another.....to be the hands and feet of Jesus for those in need.....an adult Sunday School class began preparing and serving meals one Sunday every quarter. Now all members of Wesley are involved by making baked goods for desserts and by serving.  We pray the Light of Christ comes to dwell within this Community.
